While representing Serbia at EuroBasket, the Washington Wizards big man Tristan Vukcevic had the rare opportunity to share the floor – and the practice gym – with three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic.

Speaking to Monumental Sports Network, Vukcevic reflected on the experience, saying that working alongside Jokic gave him a new perspective on preparation and decision-making at the highest level.

He pointed out that what stood out most wasn’t just Jokic’s talent, but his work habits. Watching how intensely the Nuggets star approaches training sessions left a strong impression.

The young Serbian talent focused specifically on Jokic’s reads in key offensive situations, hoping to incorporate those elements into his own game.

“Just seeing him in the short roll and how he reads – is he going to finish or pass to the corner – with those reads it helped me a lot being with him,” Vukcevic explained. “Hopefully I can translate.”

Last season, he averaged 9.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.1 assists, with a 49.6% field goal percentage.
