Around the NBA, it’s common for franchises to seek input from their stars when making big decisions – whether it’s adding players to the roster or hiring a head coach.
But Jalen Brunson has made it clear he doesn’t see himself in that role. Speaking to Stefan Bondy of the New York Post, the Knicks’ point guard explained that he’s perfectly content leaving those responsibilities to the front office.
“My entire thing was, before anything happens, my job is to go out there and be the best player I can be. And do my job on the court,” Brunson said.
“Anything that happens outside the court, with the organization, with the team, when it happens, tell me. But I don’t want any part in having a say in it or anything. It’s not my job to say who deserves to come, who deserves to go. It’s not me.”
Brunson has played 7 seasons for the Mavericks and Knicks. He has averaged 18.1 points, 5.0 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 487 regular-season games. He was selected to play in 2 All-Star games.
The move to start Mitchell Robinson gained momentum during the Knicks’ training camp and doesn’t appear to be slowing. Details: https://t.co/7X13zmL1aa
