The Toronto Raptors are reportedly one of the NBA teams showing strong interest in Duke center Khaman Maluach ahead of the upcoming 2025 NBA Draft, according to Jake Fischer of The Stein Line.
Sources say the Raptors “highly value” the 7’2″ prospect, who has steadily climbed draft boards thanks to his unique blend of size, defensive instincts, and developing offensive game.
Toronto currently holds the ninth overall pick in the draft lottery, but there’s uncertainty around whether Maluach will still be available when it’s their turn to select.
ESPN ranks Maluach sixth overall on its latest big board, meaning he could very well be taken earlier by a team picking in the top eight.
If Maluach is off the board by No. 9, Toronto is still expected to prioritize the center position, per Fischer. Several rival front offices believe the Raptors could pivot to another frontcourt prospect.
Among the next-highest ranked centers are Derik Queen (No. 13), Joan Beringer (No. 15), and Thomas Sorber (No. 18), all of whom remain strong possibilities if the Raptors opt to stay in their draft slot and address their interior depth.
Toronto’s front office has consistently emphasized the importance of upgrading the center position, making their draft-night decision one to watch closely.
