Three-time winner Mark Williams edged into the second round of the World Snooker Championship in Sheffield.

The Welshman got past China’s Wu Yize 10-8 at the Crucible.

Chris Wakelin knocked out 2010 champion Neil Robertson by the same score, while Barry Hawkins went out after losing a final frame decider to Hossein Vafaei.
