Arteta: ‘We can attract any player’
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes their victory over Real Madrid will boost the club’s appeal during summer transfer window.
The Gunners wrapped up their Champions League quarter-final victory over Los Blancos with a 2-1 win in the second leg.
It followed on from the stunning 3-0 romp at the Emirates in the first leg to boost Arsenal’s credentials to go all the way.
Arteta told reporters: “Maybe that is another factor, but we are very lucky because we are (such) a football club that every time we have spoken to players, they want to be part of (our club).
“(But) that is probably something that can generate more enthusiasm or belief, and the fact that ‘I want to be part of these nights now’ because the club is in a good place.
“Overall, we are ready, we are strong and we can attract any player.”

Partey’s departure under question
Arteta has hinted he would like midfielder Thomas Partey to be handed a new deal.
Partey, 31, is out of contract this summer but is having his best season since joining the club five years ago.
Arteta said that progress is being made with a number of players and his intent with Partey is clear — though the decision will sit with Berta.
The Spaniard said: “Yes, there is progress with all the players. I’ll leave that to Andrea and the club to decide and to talk about.
“The intention is very clear. I’ll leave that to Andrea and the club to take a step forward.”
Partey’s form this season has been largely down to his availability, having desperately struggled with injuries across his time in north London.
Arsenal will consider his age and fitness record before making a final decision on a new deal.

Ekitiké price increase

Isak is ‘a good fit for Chelsea’
Alexander Isak is one of the most in-demand football players at the moment with Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all interested in the striker.
However, former Premier League star Gus Poyet believes Isak is a better fit for Chelsea.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder told Discasino: “I would like to see Alexander Isak at Chelsea. I know him from his time at Real Sociedad and I know his characteristics, movement, and technical ability, and I think he’d be a good fit at Chelsea.
“I also think Nicolas Jackson needs competition up front – if you want to be the number 9 at Chelsea, you need to be better than how he’s currently performing.
‘Sometimes to get better you need more of a challenge – it didn’t work out with Christopher Nkunku up front, so Jackson needs someone else to try and push him. Isak can be that player.”
However, Isak is still under contract with Newcastle until June 2028.

According to Fichajes, the La Liga giants promised Zubimendi a prominent role in their “sports plan”

But according to Marca, the Catalans are no longer interested in signing the forward.

Ferdinand – Rice would have chosen Utd
Rio Ferdinand believes Declan Rice would have joined Man Utd over Arsenal – if they’d got the chequebook out.
Speaking on his YouTube channel after Rice’s heroics against Real Madrid, Ferdinand said: “Doing [that] against a team of that magnitude, that type of team, that champion.
“And we [Manchester United] didn’t go and sign him.
“I think, and I will stand by this, if Man United had come to the table with a chequebook and said, ‘We’ll match what Arsenal pay’, I think Declan Rice would have chosen Man United.”

Gyok warning
Former Prem star William Gallas has sent a warning to Viktor Gyokeres.
Arsenal are eyeing up a move for the prolific Swede who has hit 43 goals in 43 games for Sporting Lisbon.
Gallas said: “It could be completely different for him in the Premier League, it will be a big change.
