
A record 15 Ireland players have been named for the 2025 Lions tour of Australia – but Ireland captain Caelan Doris and outhalf Sam Prendergast have missed out.
Tadhg Beirne is the only Munster man named. He’s joined by Bundee Aki, Jack Conan and Tadhg Furlong as returning tourists.

There are 11 Irish players who will be making their first ever Lions tour. Ronan Kelleher, Joe McCarthy, Andrew Porter, James Ryan, Dan Sheehan and Josh van der Flier are included in the forwards. In the backs Jamison Gibson-Park, Mack Hansen, Hugo Keenan, James Lowe and Garry Ringrose are among those on the plane.

Maro Itoje has been named captain for this summer’s tour, becoming the side’s first English skipper since Martin Johnson in 2001.
