Chairman of Eunisell Group, a chemical energy outfit, Chika Ikenga, has pledged his company’s support of the current drive to make Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia more successful.

Speaking in Umuahia during the formal unveiling of Eunisell as Abia Warriors’ Official Jersey Sponsor for the ongoing 2022/2023 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, Ikenga noted that his company has a rich history of supporting football clubs in Nigeria, adding that young talents in the club are one of the ingredients required to move the club to the next level.

He said that Abia Warriors represent the hopes and aspirations of their fans and that Eunisell is open to working closely with the management in areas that can provide it more visibility to  grow bigger.

“We are enthusiastic about this relationship and hope that this sponsorship can inspire the players to greater success. We also hope that this sponsorship will move the club to think big, build confidence, overcome fear and believe that they can succeed and work very hard,” Ikenga said.

He challenged the players to ‘elevate themselves to become NPFL champions, pointing out that opportunity to become a champion is there and it should be grabbed.

Also excited by the new partnership, Abia Warriors’ Chairman, Emeka Inyama, who described Eunisell as a worthy partner, noted that the Umuahia-based club has won the hearts of fans since 2013 when they gained promotion to the NPFL and remained the only side that gained promotion the same year that are yet to return to the lower division despite the volatile nature of the league.

Also speaking at the unveiling ceremony, Abia Warriors Coach, Erasmus Onu, captain, Nweke Kalu and goalkeeper, Femi Thomas, expressed delight and appreciation for the sponsorship, while promising to leverage on it and bring joy to their fans.

At the event, which featured presentation of prizes to Bello Lukman and Jimoh Gbadamosi, who won the club’s best player awards for January and February respectively, some of the players modelled the Eunisell-sponsored home and away kits.
