BRAGA youth goalkeeper Joao Carvalho took on an opponent TWICE inside his penalty area, coming out on top while also executing a filthy nutmeg.

The Portuguese U23 side were taking on Rio Ave on Tuesday.

And Braga found themselves with a 2-1 lead nearing full-time.

However, goalkeeper Carvalho, 18, decided to take a risk which could’ve cost his team the win.

Carvalho made up for a heavy touch by sitting down Rio Ave’s Aymen Bouzidi, chopping the ball back.

In an effort to spare himself anymore embarrassment, Bouzidi got back to his feet and tried to pinch the ball off the keeper again.

But Carvalho had other ideas as he rolled the ball through Bouzidi’s legs before clearing the danger.

And fans have praised “ballsy” Carvalho.

One said: “Pretty ballsy when you’re just leading by one at the 89th minute.”

Another replied: “The decision is completely stupid but the skill is admirable.”

A third added: “I’d honestly just walk out of the field if I were that striker.”

Carvalho is a highly rated shot-stopper.

He has made two appearances for Portugal’s U20s, playing 90 minutes in the losses to Poland and Italy last year.
