Virtus Bologna made history on Tuesday, sinking 18 three-pointers in a 99–89 home victory against Anadolu Efes Istanbul at Paladozza.

The record-breaking performance surpassed the previous club mark of 16, set in 2023 against AS Monaco, and marked Virtus’ fifth win of the season.

Carsen Edwards led the charge with 21 points, including five triples, while Alen Smailagic added 17 points and five three-pointers of his own.

Luca Vildoza orchestrated the offense with seven assists, and Matt Morgan contributed 13 bench points, keeping Virtus ahead throughout the game.

Coach Dusko Ivanovic praised the team’s ball movement, noting 27 assists, eight more than their season average, helped them control the pace and maintain a steady lead.

Efes was paced by Shane Larkin’s 25 points and five assists, but the visitors could not match Virtus’ perimeter shooting. Isaia Cordinier returned to his former home court but struggled, going 0-for-4 from three and scoring just four points, while other Efes players failed to sustain accuracy from distance.

Both teams had made 12 three-pointers by the 26-minute mark, but Virtus maintained efficiency down the stretch, hitting several crucial triples that deflated the Efes comeback attempt.

Virtus improved to 5–5 in EuroLeague play, while Efes drops to 3–7. Both teams face tight schedules this week, with Virtus visiting FC Barcelona on Friday and Efes hosting FC Bayern Munich earlier the same day.
