REAL MADRID star Gareth Bale has been filmed turning up late for his side’s 2-2 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League.
The Welshman was left out by Zinedine Zidane despite seemingly being fit to play for the Spanish giants.
Club rules dictate that all first-team players must attend matches and watch them in their entirety – even if they haven’t been picked.
Footage was taken by Deportes Cuatro of Bale arriving at the Bernabeu at 6:59pm local time – with the match having kicked off at 6:55pm.
Bale, who may now be punished under Madrid’s strict discipline code, has broken this rule before, when he left Madrid’s 2-0 defeat to Real Sociedad in the 78th minute back in January.
Real Madrid were behind not long after Bale would have taken his seat when Emmanuel Bonaventure notched for the Belgians.
And it was 2-0 before half-time when Bonaventure bagged another to put Zidane’s side on the verge of a shock defeat.
But the Spanish giants rallied in the second half, with goals from Sergio Ramos and Casemiro salvaging a point.
Bale had been on the verge of a lucrative move to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning back in July, only for the move to fall through in the eleventh hour.
It appeared that the former Tottenham man’s relationship with Real Madrid had soured beyond return – but incredibly he was back in favour in time to feature in Zidane’s opening day starting XI.
Stories have continued to rumble on though, with Bale accusing his club of making him a “scapegoat” for the team’s initially disappointing start to the season.
He did produce a good performance against Villarreal, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw – but was sent off the week after against Levante.
Bale and Co next face Granada in what is unexpectedly a first versus second clash in La Liga.
