Nigeria’s Ambassador to Hungary, Dr Modupe Enitan Erele, yesterday, urged athletes representing the country at the ongoing World Championships in Budapest to be good ambassadors of the nation, saying the Federal Government is in support of their efforts to bring glory to the country.

Speaking when she visited the athletes at their Park Inn Hotel Radisson camp to motivate them, the ambassador told the athletes that President Bola Tinubu is appreciative of their efforts to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians, both at home and in the Diaspora.

She said: “I bring to you a warm message from the Presidency, and to inform you that your efforts are being appreciated.

“I can see that all of you came to Budapest well prepared for this championships. First of all, this is a game for everyone to enjoy themselves; people have their on and off days.

“I watched the women’s long jump event, and I was jumping alongside Ese Brume. I was praying for her to get the medal. She did very well. For those of you who have not started your event, feel relaxed. There will be victories for us to take home,” she stated.

The ambassador told the Nigerian delegation that the embassy would host them before the championships end on August 27.
