GARY NEVILLE has been brutally trolled after his tweet during Arsenal’s clash with Manchester City.

The former Manchester United and England star gave his thoughts at half-time with the match level at 1-1.

City went on to score twice via Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland to move above the Gunners on goal difference at the top of the Premier League table.

Yet, Neville did not see that coming as he slammed the champions’ performance and backed Arsenal to push for a winner.

He tweeted: “City imbalanced and still scruffy. Their for the taking.

Arsenal will be difficult to stop second-half shooting towards that end.”

Fans were quick to jump back on the tweet and poke fun at his remarks after the opposite happened at the Emirates Stadium.

One supporter said: “This aged well Gary.”

Another commented: “Expert analysis again.”

A third cheekily referenced Neville‘s bad time as a manager at Valencia, saying: “As bad as predicting as managing.”

The Sky Sports pundit in a later tweet admitted he was shocked that Arsenal were blown away after the break.

He again tweeted: “So surprised how Arsenal have been second-half. Looks too much for them. 20 minutes to show up.”

Neville has long believed that the North Londoners do not have what it takes to clinch the title, believing Man City’s class and experience would come through.

But after the current champions lost to Tottenham 1-0, Neville conceded that Arsenal could do it.

He criticised Guardiola for not picking his best players and tinkering too much.
