SOUTHAMPTON intend to keep a close eye on QPR’s exciting young attacker Eberechi Eze.
Saints super-spy Ross Wilson checked out the 21-year-old in midweek as he draws up a list for the next transfer window.
Eze looks like one of the best players in the Championship and Rangers may have to fight off a few advances in January.
He has reportedly been on Tottenham’s radar.
Southampton want to add some new faces and a domestic player they can afford fits the bill.
It comes after Fraser Forster left the club to rejoin Celtic.
The Scottish champions agreed a deal with Southampton for the goalkeeper to rejoin the club he left five years ago.
Forster, 31, has been drafted in to compete for a starting place under Neil Lennon after struggling for regular football at St Mary’s.
Ralph Hasenhuttl gave the green light for Forster to leave the south coast as he has Angus Gunn and Alex McCarthy as his goalkeeper options.
And Lennon has moved swiftly after Scott Bain suffered a dislocated thumb last week and left him short on cover.
Craig Gordon played in the opening games but Lennon wanted added experience in his keeper department and swooped for Forster.
