Over one-thousand players have been suspended by Turkish football’s governing body as part of an investigation into a betting scandal.

Galatasaray’s  Eren Elmali is among them – and has been withdrawn from the national team’s squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Spain and Bulgaria.

It was announced last month over 150 Turkish referees had allegedly been gambling on matches.
