Napoli coach Rudi Garcia says the club is working to have Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, ready for tomorrow’s Serie A clash with Atalanta.

“We are working to have Victor ready for the game against Atalanta,” the French tactician said, while analysing how Napoli conceded from a corner kick against Union Berlin in Wednesday night UEFA Champions League match.

The Partenopei have not won a single game at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona since September 27, and this is becoming a real problem that Garcia believes the Nigerian striker can help them solve tomorrow.

The 24-year-old was back in Naples on Wednesday and sat in the stands to watch his team falter in their UEFA Champions League 1-1 draw against visiting Union Berlin, as he spent the last week in Nigeria taking care of some family issues.

“He will be back tomorrow, but of course, he won’t be available,” Garcia said at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of the stalemated Group C game 4 tie.

A hamstring has sidelined Osimhen since October 13, which he suffered while representing Nigeria in an international friendly 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia in Portugal.

He last featured on October 8 for Napoli versus Fiorentina, scoring a goal for his team in their 3-1 loss.

Prior to his injury-off, Osimhen scored six goals in eight matches, making him the club’s leading scorer and second on the Serie A scorers’ chart alongside Oliver Giroud and Romelu Lukaku behind Lautaro Martinez, who has now scored 12 goals for Inter Milan.
