OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER insisted Daniel James is not a diver after his second booking for simulation.
Replays showed James WAS caught by Crystal Palace’s James McArthur in the 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
But he was cautioned and VAR cannot overturn cards unless it is a case of mistaken identity.
Winger James was also booked in last week’s draw at Wolves — and boss Solskjaer raised the issue after Saturday’s game without being asked.
He said: “I’m 100 per cent sure there was contact between Dan and their defender.
“Now he has two yellow cards, where there has been contact with him twice.
“I think he has been very unfairly treated, he’s been very unlucky.
“Both yellow cards should not have stood.”
Asked if he was worried James could get a reputation, Solskjaer added: “That’s why I’ve mentioned it.
“He is not that type, he’s such an honest boy. He gets straight up and keeps running.
“Just look at the video. There is contact here (in the Palace match) and in the Wolves game.
“Sometimes you get kicked and with the pace he’s got, a touch or a nudge will be enough for him to fall.”
