Suns guard Jalen Green will miss at least the next month after re-injuring his right hamstring, with a reevaluation scheduled in four to six weeks, per Shams Charania of ESPN.
The timeline matches what Suns insider John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reported earlier. Even in a best-case scenario, Green is expected to miss 13 games.
The 23-year-old has dealt with hamstring problems since training camp, first straining it early in the fall and aggravating it during his return process in mid-October.
After sitting out the first eight games of the regular season, Green returned last Thursday but exited Saturday’s contest after just seven minutes when he felt a sharp pain in his leg following a pass to Ryan Dunn.
He was helped off the court and ruled out shortly after.
This latest setback delays Phoenix’s plans to fully integrate Green, acquired from Houston in the Kevin Durant trade.
Previously one of the NBA’s most durable players, he had appeared in all 82 games in each of the past two seasons.
In Green’s absence, the Suns will continue relying on Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale for heavy wing minutes, while Ryan Dunn, Collin Gillespie, and Jordan Goodwin remain key rotation pieces.
Despite the injuries, Phoenix has won five of its last six games to improve to 6–5.
