Odion Ighalo FC, yesterday, defeated Panters FC 10- 2 in one of Group A’s games to qualify for the conference final at the ongoing 1XBET Community Football Championship at the Odion Ighalo Sports Arena, Epe, Lagos.

In the must win game, the Ighalo boys, handled by Ambrose Duru, rained goals on their opponents, with a quick fire hattrick from the immensely talented striker, Yusuf Fawaz, in the third, 10th and 17th minutes of the game.

Panthers FC refused to give up, as they responded with two quick goals from Junior Gabriel and Segun Happiness in the 25th and 30th minute to end the first half 3-2 in favour of Ighalo FC.

In the second stanza, however, Michael Nwachukwu scored four goals in between goals from Victor Whizojie and Dennis Kingsley, while Yusuf Fawaz added gloss to the scoring line with the 10th goal for the Ighalo boys.

In the second game of the group, De Porters hit Peckins FC 4-0 to also garner seven points, but lost the ticket to Odion Ighalo FC on goals difference.

Group B leaders, De Elites FC drew 1-1 with hard-fighting Emperor FC to top the group with seven points, ahead of Emperor FC on five points to qualify for the conference’s final.

Odion Ighalo FC and De’Elites FC will meet in the Epe Conference final today at the same arena. The winner will qualify to represent Epe Conference in the final eight of the championship.
