Gordon Elliott landed a double at Clonmel on Thursday where Jack Kennedy and Harry Swan rode his winners. The former champion jockey had an easy time of it as he took the opening two-mile three-furlong maiden hurdle on the Gigginstown House Stud-owned Kovanis. The 9/2 chance made all the running and went clear between the final two hurdles to beat Paul Nolan’s 7/4 favourite I Am Lorenzo by five lengths. In contrast, Swan had to work hard for his success on 8/15 favourite Panjandrum in the concluding bumper. Another in the Gigginstown House Stud colours, the five-year-old was all out to beat Gavin Cromwell’s 11/5 chance Grandy Lane by a head. Robert Tyner landed his second success of the week when taking the two-mile one-furlong handicap chase with the 7/2 favourite Kobalt St Georges. With Phillip Enright again riding for owner Brendan Keogh, the five-year-old added to his win at the course two weeks previously when scoring a two and a quarter-length victory over the Eamonn Gallagher-trained 5/1 shot Onefortheditch.

Jack Kennedy and Gordon Elliott shared their first winner of the weekend as the Ray Stokes-owned Maverick Mack took the opening division of the four-year-old maiden hurdle at Gowran Park on Saturday. A 10/1 chance, he led at the second-last hurdle and went clear to score by six and a half lengths from Gavin Cromwell’s 5/2 favourite Bergamasquo.

Kennedy and Elliott were winners again as the 100/30 chance Port Authority scored a runaway success in the two-mile maiden hurdle at Naas on Sunday. He headed Peter Lawlor’s front-running 11/10 favourite Murat between the final two hurdles and stretched clear to score by all of 17 lengths in a race in which only the first and second horses counted from well before halfway.
