GOAL-SHY Chelsea stars hit the training ground with out of favour striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang looking to earn his place for the double-header with Manchester City.
And Chelsea‘s woes in front of goal have them trailing ten points behind fourth-place Manchester United.
Following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with league strugglers Nottingham Forest, goal-shy Chelsea stars are back on the training pitch ahead of their double-header against Man City.
Chelsea host defending Prem champions City on Thursday at Stamford Bridge.
They then follow that meeting up with an FA Cup third round meeting at the Etihad on Sunday.
And out of favour striker Aubameyang is hoping to win his spot back in the team and solve Potter and Co’s problems in front of goal.
The ex-Arsenal captain and Barcelona striker was hoping to thrive in West London under former boss Thomas Tuchel.
But since Tuchel’s September sacking, Aubameyang has scored just three goals, with one of those coming in the league, and two in the Champions League.
He has also started just four times under Potter, coming off the bench in his last two Prem outings.
Potter will be hoping ex-City boy Raheem Sterling turn in fine displays.
He has, however, admitted that it has been hard for Sterling in the early stages of his Chelsea career with the club undergoing massive changes.
Potter said: “It’s been a challenge for him but it’s been a challenging period for everybody.
“There’s been a lot of change and a lot has happened, so in that regard, it’s not easy to completely settle or hit the ground running.
“There is more to come from Raheem I’m sure but he gives his best every day and we need to help him get to the level we know he can reach.”
