Greeted with hugs and handshakes from Liverpool’s biggest stars, it is clear just how important teenager Trent Alexander-Arnold is for the Reds this season.
Alexander-Arnold linked up with the Liverpool squad for the first time this pre-season at their camp in Evian-les-Bains on Tuesday.
It comes after the full back was given extra time off to recuperate following his involvement with England at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Alexander-Arnold’s time on the pitch was fleeting – he played 79 minutes, all in the dead rubber group stage match against Belgium – but his involvement in training for an extra month meant Liverpool did not include him on their tour of the USA.
After his place in the most successful England World Cup squad since 1990 – the Three Lions unexpectedly coming in fourth – Alexander-Arnold arrived in France to prepare for the Premier League campaign.
He could feature in Liverpool’s two remaining pre-season games – against Napoli on Saturday in Dublin and versus Torino on Tuesday at Anfield – to gain match practice before the team’s league season begins against West Ham on August 12.

Alexander-Arnold arrived in a Mercedes at Liverpool’s hotel on Tuesday, wearing a grey tracksuit and carrying a rucksack, before changing into the club training kit of red t-shirt and grey shorts.
It was a welcome as warm as the French summer sun at the camp, with smiles all around as the 19-year-old returned – not least from his manager.
Jurgen Klopp, with his usual toothy grin, gave Alexander-Arnold a big hug before having a chat in the hotel’s patio area.

It was also a time of new meetings and greetings, as Alexander-Arnold met some of his team mates for the first time, including summer signings Fabinho and Alisson.

The Brazil No 1, who like Alexander-Arnold represented his country in Russia, gave fans a first glimpse of him in action for Liverpool with some acrobatic dives and saves in training.
He was joined by Brazil team-mate Roberto Firmino, with both having enjoyed an extended holiday following their run to the quarter-finals.
Klopp has taken his side to Evian-les-Bains, near the Swiss border, for a short training camp ahead of the start of the new season.
