Tomori reveals AC anxiety

Fikayo Tomori was brought out to face the cameras at the final whistle of tonight’s 2-0 defeat to Inter Milan, and admitted that he and his AC Milan teammates were caught off guard in the opening exchanges.

He told BT Sport: “We’re disappointed with the way we started the game.

“In the first half, it took us a while to get back in the game. I think there was some anxiety in the team. With a team like Inter, you can’t give them a millimetre.

“But it’s only the first game and we can’t let our heads drop. If we play with the right intensity, we can put them in bother.”

As Opta pointed out before kick-off, Tomori was the first Englishman to appear in a Champions League semi-final for a non-English club since Steve McManaman.

Unfortunately for the young defender, his performance tonight was on a par with that of the BT Sport co-commentator.
