Lance Stephenson may have discovered a new career path after earning a win in an MMA fight against former NBA player Michael Beasley on Saturday night.
The two former basketball rivals faced off at Brand Risk 14, an event organized by influencer Adin Ross, and the fight ended quickly after Stephenson secured a submission victory in the opening round.
After briefly exchanging punches, Beasley attempted a guillotine choke before Stephenson escaped and locked in a rear-naked choke that forced Beasley to tap out.
Following the fight, Beasley admitted he was surprised by the submission loss but said he would be open to boxing Stephenson in the future.
Stephenson agreed, while Beasley jokingly threw another punch in his direction after the bout.
The two have built a competitive history over the years, including BIG3 matchups and a highly publicized one-on-one basketball game worth $100,000 that Beasley won last year.
The event also featured former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel defeating influencer Bob Menery by first-round TKO.
Stephenson and Beasley previously spent the 2018-19 season together on the Los Angeles Lakers.
