Mitchell Robinson announced Saturday that he plans to step away from social media while continuing to deal with mental health struggles during the New York Knicks’ playoff run.
A few hours before Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals, Robinson shared a message explaining that he needed time away from online platforms to focus on himself.
“I’m deleting all apps for a little while until I can get back to myself,” Robinson wrote.
The Knicks center said he recently went through a difficult personal experience but chose not to publicly discuss the details.
“My mental health is not the best right now but I am fighting to get back on track while playing on the biggest stage in the world,” Robinson said.
According to reports, Robinson had previously referenced emotional struggles after being ejected during the first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks following an altercation with Dyson Daniels.
Robinson also posted another farewell-style message on social media Thursday while announcing plans to remove his accounts.
“This is the start of a new chapter in my life,” Robinson wrote. “Love and will miss y’all.”
