Ime Udoka: Depth and balance will be our strength

Here’s Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka on the team’s balanced scoring effort following Wednesday’s 135-112 home win vs. the Washington Wizards (six players scored in double figures/56 bench points).

(via Rocket Fuel-A Houston Rockets show):

“A big part of is, other than Josh [Okogie], we had all those guys in double figures starting. And then to have 20-plus with those guys off the bench (Reed Sheppard & Tari Eason), gives us a great boost. But our depth and balance and different guys every night is gonna be our strength all year to understand how we’re gonna get shots off of Kevin [Durant] and Alperen [Sengun] — they’re pretty much doubling those guys every time.

“So it’s gonna be different guys that’ll be recipients every night, then when they make enough shots and we have this balanced scoring, they can kinda free them up. So, strength in our numbers — our depth is real like I always say, and you come in with three units that pretty much can start or play backup minutes in the NBA.”
