Jeremiah Robinson-Earl will remain with the Indiana Pacers a little longer after the team re-signed him to a second 10-day contract, according to an official announcement from the franchise.
His initial deal expired late Monday night, but with the team still battling through several injuries, Indiana opted to keep him on board.
The 25-year-old forward made five appearances during his first stint with the Pacers, averaging 5.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game.
While he has struggled with efficiency – shooting just 32.3% from the field (10-of-31) – his rebounding and defensive activity have earned him consistent minutes in a short-handed rotation.
Indiana’s roster continues to be stretched thin, with key players such as Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin, and Obi Toppin all sidelined.
As a result, head coach Rick Carlisle has leaned on depth pieces like Robinson-Earl to help fill the gap.
“We’ve needed guys to step in and keep us competitive,” Carlisle recently noted, referring to the team’s heavy injury toll.
Because of the ongoing injuries, the Pacers have been granted multiple hardship exceptions by the league, allowing them to temporarily exceed the 15-player roster limit.
Forward Cody Martin is also currently on a 10-day hardship deal.
Robinson-Earl’s new contract will run through November 20, covering five more games. He’ll earn $141,463 for the term of the deal, which carries a $131,970 cap hit.
Under NBA rules, this will be his second and final 10-day contract with Indiana for the season – meaning the team would need to sign him for the rest of the year if they wish to retain him beyond that point.
