MANCHESTER UNITED will keep the full £75million of their kit sponsorship deal with Adidas after qualifying for the Champions League.
Failure to secure a place at European football’s top table for a second season running would have allowed the German manufacturers to knock off a whopping £25m from their payment next season.
But the Red Devils’ 2-0 win at Leicester on Sunday ensured they finished third and will play against the continent’s elite sides in the 2020/21.
The club are still in the Europa League and winning the tournament could have provided an alternative route into the Champions League should they have finished outside the top four.
Now that extra £25m is expected to bolster Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer kitty for the summer.
And that could prove critical in United’s hopes of landing Ben Chilwell.
The Leicester defender will not be playing Champions League football at the King Power next season and, as revealed by SunSport, United may look to capitalise on that by luring him to Old Trafford.
Securing Champions League football is also thought to have landed Solskjaer a tidy seven-figure bonus.
The United boss’ contract has various incentives, including one for restoring the club into Uefa’s top competition which he has managed in his first full season in charge.
Receiving the full £75m from Adidas – who took over from Nike in 2015 – means Manchester United will have the second-biggest kit deal in the Premier League.
Liverpool top the pile after securing an £80m-a-year contract with Nike for the new season following their stretch with New Balance.
Manchester City get £65m per year from Puma while Arsenal and Chelsea pocket £60m each from Adidas and Nike respectively. Spurs, meanwhile, are way back on £30m a year from Nike.
But even Manchester United and Liverpool’s deals are dwarfed by the mega bucks Real Madrid and Barcelona rake in.
